Readme: Update 2 for Delphi and C++Builder 2009
This file contains important supplementary information that might not appear in the main product
documentation. CodeGear recommends that you read this file in its entirety. For an updated version

This document refers to "the product" when the information applies to both
personalities: Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009.
For general information about installation, deployment, and licensing, see the
Install, Deploy, and License
files located, by default, at C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD Studio\6.0.
Installing This Update
Delphi and C++Builder 2009 Update 2 updates the Delphi and C++Builder 2009 Database Pack.
Only database-related fixes are included in this update. Update 1 included fixes to the rest of
the product. Update 1 must be installed separately.
Delphi and C++Builder 2009 Update 2 will uninstall the previous Database Pack that was
installed and install this newer version. The version of the database files in this update
will be 3250.
This update can be applied over either or both of the following products:
- Delphi 2009 with Update 1
- C++Builder 2009 with Update 1
This update requires that Update 1 be applied in order to work properly.
If Update 1 is not installed, please do not install Update 2. Instead, install
Update 1 first and then apply Update 2.
Upgrading via the Automatic Upgrade Mechanism
If you selected "Check for Updates Automatically" when
you installed the product, you should automatically be notified when an update is
available for download. Click the notification and follow the instructions to download
and install the Update.
Manually Checking for Updates
If you don't receive an automatic notification about the update, you can check
for updates manually:
- Select Start | Programs | CodeGear RAD Studio 2009 | Check for
updates.
- In the list of available updates, select Delphi and C++Builder 2009
Update 2.
Downloading from the Registered Users Web Page
Update 2 is also available for download from the registered users download
pages as follows:
Download to your computer and extract the zip file.
Then run dbpack_setup.exe /upgrade to install the update.
Note: This update process might take ten minutes or more to complete.
You should avoid stopping the Update installation once it has started.
Uninstalling this Update
If you need to uninstall the update, select "CodeGear Delphi and C++Builder 2009
Database Pack" in Add/Remove Programs, and click Remove. The IDE has dependencies
on the Database Pack, so you should not uninstall the DataBase Pack if you will continue to
use the IDE.
