dbExpress Sybase Update
This file contains important supplemental and late-breaking
information that may not appear in the main product
documentation, and supersedes information contained in other
documents, including previously installed release notes. Borland
recommends that you read this file in its entirety.
Important: Delphi must be closed before installing this Update.
INSTALLING THIS UPDATE
This Update provides a Sybase driver for dbExpress and has been
certified with Sybase 12.5. This driver is licensed only for
use with the Enterprise and Architect editions of Delphi 8.
This Update is a zipped file that contains the following files:
dbexpase.dll (dll file version 7.1.1375.17137)
readme_upd_dbexpase.txt (this file)
Unzip the Update file to a temporary folder and copy
dbexpase.dll to the Delphi 8 Bin folder (by default,
Optionally, copy readme_upd_dbexpase.txt to the BDS folder.
UPDATING THE DBXDRIVERS.INI FILE
Add the following to the dbxdrivers.ini file (located by default
at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDS\dbExpress):

The following are known issues with this Update:
* BLOB support is limited. The BLOBSIZE configuration entry
determines how much BLOB data can be fetched. Since the BLOB
data is substituted in parameter markers, BLOB insertion
is also limited.
BLOB SP parameters are not supported.
* Transaction ISOLATION level is not supported.
