Notes: As of August 2006, this download has been updated to remove the EasySoft ODBC driver. The new DataDirect ODBC driver is available from the InterBase Registered Users download page.

To upgrade from InterBase 7.x , you should first save your borland.lic file and ib_license.dat to a known location on your system.

Next uninstall InterBase 7.x.
During install choose upgrade.

When you are prompted to select a borland.lic file, select the one thatyou have previously saved. The install will now succeed without prompting you for Registration. Copy the saved ib_license.dat to the InterBase root directory and start the server.

Note: If you have uninstalled InterBase 7.x before saving your borland.lic and ib_license.dat files to a known location on your system you must re-register InterBase by following the Sanctuary installation instructions. In order to re-register you must use the Serial Number and Authorization key that came with your 7.x CD. Once installed save theborland.lic ib_license.dat file to a known location.
