the view merge tool assumes that when you are syncing a folder or file that you want to share it as a floating share. This is usually NOT the case. Someone has developed a tool to turn off the the float and reestablish the shares.
You should add this feature to the tool itself or atleast ask the user what behavior they'd like through a checkbox option or something.
