This is a sample database connection pool object. It employs a semaphore to control access to available connections, and makes use of an interface to manage the connection lifecycle. For a more complete description of this code, read Cary Jensen's article "Using Semaphores in Delphi, Part 2: The Connection Pool" on the Borland Developer Network at http://bdn.borland.com/soapbox/professionaldeveloper/.
This connection pool has recently been updated with several improvements, and is running successfully in a number of production applications.
