Description
OOP SimpleDAOHelper is the Java API for JDBC PreparedStatement in JSP/Servlet programming. By this Java API, your DAO (Data Access Object) need not include any source code related with JNDI data source or JDBC driver.
In the ideal J2EE environment, your DAO should get the JDBC PreparedStatement from JNDI data source. But in the real world, you may need to run JSP/Servlet in the environment without the JNDI data source. Moreover, the performance of the JNDI data source fully depends on the implementation, i.e. the good J2EE server implements the pooling mechanism of the JDBC Connection which gives you the good JNDI data source, but this is not always true.
If you can switch the way how to get the JDBC PreparedStatement, you can run your JSP/Servlet in many environments. And, OOP SimpleDAOHelper makes it possible. The source code of your DAO can be free from the lines for JNDI data source and JDBC driver. What you need is to edit the property file.
