Encryption and decryption helps you to protect sensitive data. The encryption takes your data, combines them with a secret key and produces encrypted data that is meaningless to an intruder. The decryption is the opposite process. It takes the encrypted data and the secret key used for encryption and generates the original data.

ArtiCrypt hides all the tedious details of data encrypting and decrypting. You can easily encrypt strings, dates and numeric values. In addition, if you want to encrypt and decrypt whole files, you can do it with ArtiCrypt.

ArtiCrypt is an ActiveX component used for data encryption and decryption. It can be used from any language and environment that supports ActiveX components.

ArtiCrypt uses a block encryption algorithm. It encrypts a block of 32 bits of data using a 64-bit key. The size of the block was chosen to ensure both transparent use of encryption component and good encryption quality.

Encrypting 32 bits of data (4 bytes), the component can encrypt data of following types: Long, Single, Double, Date, string, Currency and Decimal. The same algorithm is used for file encryption and decryption.
