Description
SocketQ was designed for building fast and efficient network applications for all 32-bit Windows platforms. It uses techniques such as memory pre-allocation to speed up I/O, and uses the fastest available platform-common mechanism for transferring data, called overlapped I/O. SocketQ also takes advantage of Windows NT specific performance features when running on an NT (or higher) machine, such as low level APIs that allow files to be sent directly from the systems file cache via one method call from the component. Additional advanced features include sync/async connects with timeouts, multi-threaded sending/receiving, support for multi-homed machines, access to socket options to change Winsock headers for connection customization, and more, all while still providing a simple interface to interact with.
