SocksvrQ was built from the ground up to be fast and efficient. It uses techniques such as memory pre-allocation to speed up I/O, and uses that fastest available mechanism for transferring data on NT machines, called I/O completion ports (IOCPs). In fact, IOCPs are the same mechanism that Microsoft uses to build their own server products such as IIS!

SocksvrQ also takes advantage of numerous other Windows NT specific performance features, such as processor scaling and low level APIs that allow files to be sent directly from the systems file cache via one method call from the component.

Additional advanced features include sync/asyn connects with timeouts, multi-threaded sending/receiving, the ability to configure the number of threads in the I/O thread pool, intelligent default thread pool settings according to the number of CPUs present on the machine, support for multi-homed machines, access to socket options to change Winsock headers for connection customization, and more, all while still providing a simple interface to interact with.
