Send emails from your EJB Application Server. MAIL-J is an EJB component that is designed to integrate into a J2EE environment. It can be used by any other EJB, JSP or client side application to send email. It supports any character set and encodes all emails to allow transfer of foreign language subject, body text, text attachments and filenames. It also can be used to send multiple binary and text attachments and HTML alternative format emails.

Mail-J can be deployed to take advantage of J2EE mail Sessions defined in the application server or it can manage its own sessions if the application server does not support these.

It’s a component that comes as both a Stateless Session Bean for use in simple mail generation and sending and a Stateful Session Bean that can be used for more complex situations such as when multiple attachments need to be sent. The distribution includes both versions of the component so a company can use the best solution for its needs. Mail-J can be used from other EJBs, JSPs, Servlets or other J2EE client applications.

Character Encoding
In both versions, Mail-J supports any character set encoding to allow mails to be sent in any language and ensures they are encoded in compliance with RFC2045 (which defines formats for non US-ASCII text in mail messages).

HTML Alternate Formats
Mail-J enables messages to be constructed as HTML alternate format so that if the mail client supports HTML it will be displayed as a HTML document otherwise only the plain text version of the message will be shown.

MAIL-J supports mail sending with attachments. The Stateful Session version allows multiple attachments to be added to a mail while the Stateless Session version supports only single attachments.

The evaluation is time-limited.
