ID: 15692, Ant Builder v.1.0 alpha

by Valentino Kyriakides Email: Anonymous

Ant Builder is an Opentool which can be used to create an initial Ant XML build script for an actual JBuilder project. Ant Builder does this by hooking the Ant XML build file generation process as an addon task to the common JBuilder build process. The resulting initial Ant XML build script can then be edited, used or executed from inside of the JBuilder IDE.

Note: In it's actual state Ant Builder v.1.0 alpha doesn't support the parsing and generation of any JBuilder relevant Servlet/JSP or J2EE project settings. These have to be setup manually for an Ant Builder generated build.xml file by editing it's contents inside of the JBuilder editor.

Installation

To install the Ant Builder OpenTool, copy the JAR file included in the distribution into the ...\lib\ext directory under your JBuilder installation path. The antbuilder.jar file is the main Ant Builder file, which must be installed.

Beside this, you will might need actual copies of xerces.jar and jdom.jar if you don't use or have the JBuilder Enterprise version, which already contains these right out of the box.

In the following table, refers to the root directory of the JBuilder installation.

File to copy Target directory
--------------------------------------------------
antbuilder.jar /lib/ext (included)
xerces.jar /lib/ext (optional needed)
jdom.jar /lib/ext (optional needed)

After copying the jar files to their locations, you must restart JBuilder and press the Wizards|Ant Builder... button to start the Ant Builder wizard page. Now the Ant Builder wizard page should appear.

For further informations take a look into the Ant Builder distributions Readme.html file and into the Ant Builder online help, which is accessable from the wizard's page help button!
