Description
Question: Normally you assume that Selattributes.Protected := False will unprotect the selected identical text?

Answer: Before you can change protected text (including its protected status) you must provide an OnProtectChange event handler, e.g:

procedure TForm1.RichEdit1ProtectChange(Sender: TObject; StartPos,EndPos: Integer; var AllowChange: Boolean);
begin
AllowChange := True;
end;
