Description

IMPORTANT NOTES
- This update requires that you already have Delphi 6.02 Professional or Enterprise installed. If you do not have Delphi 6.02 installed you will need to install that first.
- The update applies only to the ActionBands feature of VCL.
- The interface section of some of the units has changed in this update therefore if you have any packages installed that require ActionBands those packages will have to be recompiled.
- If you have downloaded and installed the XP style ActionBands from http://www.geocities.com/delphihelp you will need to recompile the design-time package dclXPCtrls.dpk.

HOW TO INSTALL THE UPDATE

1. Make sure you have Delphi 6.02 installed
2. Close Delphi if it is running
3. Extract the files in the ActionBands.zip file to a temporary directory
4. Run Update.exe (included in the zip file) from your temporary directory
5. Select your Delphi 6.0 directory (for example
\Program Files\Borland\Delphi6) as the directory to update
6. Click the Browse button and select the file ActionBands.upd from your temp directory
7. Click the Update button
8. On the Update Completed dialog click OK
9. Click the Close button to complete the update

You should now have successfully installed the ActionBands update.

ActionBands can be easily extended to support alternative style menus and toolbars. The following addtional ActionBand styles are available here http://www.geocities.com/delphihelp:

ACTIONBANDS HELPER COMPONENT

Also available is the TActionManagerHelper component that will assist you working with ActionBands. It has several methods to ease finding, adding and removing ActionBand items dynamically at runtime. Included in the download is a demo application illustrating how to use this component.
